My PhD project (supervised by Stéphane VEESLER and Nadine CANDONI, at CINaM, Marseille, France) concerned the preparation of alginate hydrogel microparticles by using microfluidics. The objective was to produce red blood cell-like microparticles, without using surfactant, which would be used for the calibration of an on-going ultrasonic diagnosis device. After joining Xing MA’s group as a postdoctoral fellow, with my PhD background and the group’s facilities, I have considered two potential research projects: the preparation of micromotors and/or quantum dot-encoded microbeads via microfluidics, both for biological applications.
