This project aims to design novel biocompatible systems for on-demand drug delivery, resulting in efficient cancer therapy (e.g. chemotherapy, photodynamic therapy, starvation therapy). We employ silica nanoparticles, nanosized liquid metal, metal-organic frameworks, and polymers as substrate materials and functionalize them with specific properties in order to realize controllable loading, transportation and release of biomedical cargos. These obtained nanosystems show high anticancer efficiency, which are investigated in biological systems.
